IODINE DEFICIENCY DISORDER (IDD)

Through donations and Hixson awards, the Club participates in Kiwanis International's efforts to rid the world of this terrible problem. IDD is the world's leading preventable cause of mental retardation and Kiwanis is contributing to its eradication. Hixson Awards are given to outstanding Kiwanians through $1,000 gifts to the Kiwanis International Foundation's IDD efforts. John Caddell, Charles Howard, Philip Shanks, Lynn Fowler, John Woller, Bill Stone, Tommy Daniels and Patrice Stewart are past recipients.
